Practice Holistic Skincare with Ste. Anne's Skin Nourishment
We all want healthy, glowing skin and that never-ending quest has us scrolling through endless viral beauty hacks and even giving some ideas a try.
But should we trust trending DIY beauty treatments flooding our feeds? After all, anyone can be a viral skin care “expert” and produce content.
It can be tempting to experiment with inexpensive, at-home face fixes, but beware. Many of TikTok and Instagram’s most popular beauty hacks aren’t just weird, they can do more harm than good.
Face-taping videos have racked up more than 4.4 million views on TikTok. Using a piece of tape to “freeze” your face while you sleep is supposed to stop you from getting wrinkles by limiting motion. But you can damage the skin barrier when you remove the tape, and it can cause redness, irritation and breakouts.
Chemical at-home peels are a big viral hit but they may leave you with burned skin. Doing your own microneedling by poking holes in your face with a dermaroller can lead to infection. And hacking a hyaluron pen to DIY the look of lip fillers is a really bad idea. You should never be giving yourself lip procedures or any aesthetic rejuvenation at home. Your face is not the place to save money – or experiment.
Steer clear of questionable skin care practices and always seek out trustworthy experts for accurate information and sensible, holistic treatments in order to keep your skin healthy and happy, recommends Natalie Koshowski, Spa Director at Ste. Anne’s Spa.
“At Ste. Anne’s, we take a holistic approach to skincare - we nurture the face and body using gentle human touch and plant-based, nourishing skincare products. We believe that growing older is a natural process and that there is beauty to be found at every age and stage of life,” says Natalie.
There is no magic pill or hack to erase the lines of time, but many beauty treatments can be soothing, reparative and strengthening, and help restore healthy skin.
“Something I have recently fallen in love with is hydradermabrasion. This gentle, medical treatment uses high pressure to allow the products to penetrate beyond the surface of the skin. The best part is that it is very gentle and suitable for all skin types,” says Natalie.
Ste. Anne’s recently introduced the JetPeel Essential Facial, a type of hydradermabrasion that delivers phenomenal results after just one treatment. Using jet streams at subsonic speed, the treatment stimulates stimulate circulation, exfoliates and infuses bioactive nutrients deep into the skin with a touchless wand.
Pampering facials are a wonderful way to take care of your skin. They’re hydrating, rejuvenating and uber-relaxing for tired, stressed-out skin – and minds too! What isn’t there to love about calming touch? When our skin looks smooth and glowing, it can boost our confidence in our appearance.
Exfoliation is also an essential part of any skincare routine, and we offer numerous holistic treatments here at the spa that includes exfoliation, such as Coconut Breeze, our seasonal Citrus Sun, and Back Cleansing Stone Treatment, and many others that offer benefits long after you leave the spa.
Be kind to the skin you’re in – it’s the only one you have. Treat yourself to holistic products and trusted treatments. Keep in mind that the more you do and the more you slather on, does not equal smoother, younger skin. Less can be more.
Take our tips to enhance your skin’s glow and health:
